What is neither a plant nor an animal, but shares more than 50% of human DNA?

The answer lies in the unique kingdom of mushrooms and fungi. There are more than 270 kinds of mushrooms and fungi, most of which are safe to eat, grow interestingly, and have a high immunotherapy effect on humans. One of the important support functions is brain and memory health.

We tend to think of mushrooms and fungi as sticky, squishy or dirty things, but in fact, mushrooms grow in various climates, come in various colors, sizes and shapes, and some can even move on their own. Without these magical creatures, we would still step on dinosaur corpses and ancient forest remains; there would be no decay and decomposition. We will have no fertile and luscious soil, and plants will not survive. Of course, if these fascinating fungi have a positive impact on the ecosystem in such an amazing way, then our human realm must have some benefits!

You may have seen some mushrooms in your yard, on your tree or on the rotten material from your last camping trip, or even in the produce department of the grocery store, or you may have picked them from your pizza. I think it is safe to say that unless you have been living under rocks, you have been exposed to mushrooms and fungi. Wait a moment! That is where they grew up!

Functional fungi are composed of a variety of complex compounds, which have many benefits for the body. Many countries and cultures have used mushrooms and fungi as medicines for centuries. In fact, functional fungi and the beneficial ingredients of mushrooms make mushrooms one of the most widely studied topics in plant science and medicine today.

Many studies and resources can be found online at the National Cancer Institute, which lists a lot of information about these studies. https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/cam/patient/mushrooms-pdq. A recent article pointed out: In Asia, there are more than 100 kinds of mushrooms used to treat cancer. Some of the more common ones are Ganoderma lucidum (Ganoderma lucidum), Trametes variabilis or Yunzhi (turkey tail), Shiitake mushroom (Shiitake) and Grifola frondosa (maitake mushroom). Mushrooms are being studied to understand how they affect the immune system and whether they prevent or slow the growth of tumors or kill tumor cells. It is believed that certain compounds in turkey tail mushrooms, such as polysaccharides (β-glucans), can strengthen the immune system to fight cancer.

Nowadays, you don’t have to eat mushrooms; you can always buy supplements from your local health food store. One of my personal favorite combinations includes 10 wonderful mushrooms, all of which have their own long list of health benefits. Lion's mane, white fungus, mushrooms, chaga, maitake mushroom, turkey tail, shiitake mushroom, ganoderma, cordyceps and Meshima are combined to form a comprehensive health supplement to support a healthy heart, support a strong immune system, and improve recognition Know function and memory, provide sustainable energy and improve digestion.

As a general health product, mushrooms provide many nutrients essential for healthy aging and overall nutrition. All edible mushrooms contain anti-inflammatory, liver-protective and adaptogen compounds, which means they can improve the body's ability to adapt to stress. In terms of nutrition, mushrooms provide concentrated nutrients such as fiber, vitamins, minerals, protein and so on. Medicinal mushrooms are now very popular and can appear in the form of capsules, tea, coffee, powder, candy, etc.

Nature sometimes provides us with clues that the external characteristics of plants or fungi may be beneficial to the system or organ. Ironically, both lion's mane mushrooms and white fungus have the shape of a human brain. Since these two kinds of mushrooms contain certain compounds that have protective effects on neurodegenerative diseases and free radical damage, especially in the brain, they are both studying the benefits of cognition and memory. These two specific fungi produce compounds that stimulate nerve growth factor, which is an important part of healthy aging and the central nervous system.

Therefore, don't pick mushrooms from pizza or count them just because they look strange or interesting. If you do not currently include medicinal mushrooms in your daily health regimen, you may miss the greatest health opportunity in human history.
